Profile

Monika plays a pivotal role in driving Addenda Capital’s comprehensive approach to sustainable investing, which encompasses four key pillars: the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions; the qualification of securities for impact and climate transition; stewardship that promotes sustainable capital markets to address systemic sustainability issues; and active corporate engagement.

Monika’s career in sustainability began with a research project at Harvard Kennedy School’s Initiative for Responsible Investing. She later launched the Investor Water Toolkit and established a foundation for global investor collaboration on water. Returning to Canada, Monika led the Sustainable Investing department at a large consulting firm, where she worked with asset owners nationwide on their sustainability and climate initiatives.

Monika holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Science from Loyola University (Chicago). She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
